“Invest in women: Accelerate progress”
Directed and hosted by Dr Guila Clara Kessous, UNESCO Artist for Peace, Ambassador for Peace of the Universal Circle of Ambassadors of Peace (Geneva), this online forum focuses on women's rights voices and their lack of resonance around the world in terms of rights, society or politics in link with United Nations’ theme of 2024 “Invest in women: Accelerate progress”.
This series of interventions opened by Dr. Guila Clara Kessous is intended to be an expression of solidarity, to defend women’s rights and to reaffirm initiatives to their unconditional recognition. Far from victimization, based on the five main areas defined by the United Nations, we'll be looking at the solutions proposed by men and women to help us to "accelerate progress."
“Women need to have access to the same rights as men, not as women, but as human beings. The recognition of those women’s rights will only be achieved together in a side-by-side fight, men and women united to finally build the society of tomorrow”
Dr Guila Clara Kessous
UNESCO Artist for Peace – Ambassador for Peace of the Universal Circle of Ambassadors of Peace (Geneva)
“Dear Unesco Artist for Peace, dear Guila Clara Kessous,
Legal rights for women matter. They are a bedrock and give women agency in the workplace, at home, in the streets, on public transportation, everywhere. When they don’t matter, government has failed half its electorate.
Wishing you the best for the celebration of International women's rights day 2024!"
